A new sound has emerged from a candle lit, gothic style house in the heart of Barrie, Ontario, and it's taking on new victims - one at a time! This is the dawn of the Dead Starlets. In the dark winter of 2007, a charismatic frontman named Church, and former Toronto music scenester/guitarist Chris Naylor decided to collaborate on a new project. With Church's distinctive melodic yet growling vocals, and Chris' explosive guitar riffs, the Dead Starlets' sound started taking shape. The line-up was completed with the additions of the young, twisted, musical mind of Dave Bodle on bass, and the thundering drumming of Luc Loiselle. New songs came quickly, and the Dead Starlets' sound and image soon crystallized.
The spring of 2007 saw the band release a self-titled three song e.p., that was met with much fanfare! The song "Get Over It" received airplay on Rock 95 FM, and the song "Sex On The Dance Floor" was an instant favourite of fans and critics alike. Also at this time, Chris signed an endorsement deal with canadian guitar company Dot On Shaft.
Dead Starlets were fortunate to have many people quickly join the ranks as fans. These fans soon realised that the Dead Starlets combined the fury of The Sex Pistols, the soul of Social Distortion and Nashville Pussy, and the sexy darkness of Rob Zombie and Ministry.
The early summer of 2008 sees the Dead Starlets releasing their debut full length album, cheekily entitled, "Greatest Hits Volume One". The Dead Starlets will also be taking their show (or as Church likes to call it.."an experience!), on the road to the masses. Recommendation...DON'T MISS IT! Then you will know what all the buzz is about! |
